FOREST FIELD VISITS IS AN ONLINE EXHIBITION ACCOMPANYING FOREST MEETINGS, A TRANSDISCIPLINARY SERIES OF EVENTS ABOUT FORESTS AND SUSTAINABILITY, ROOTED IN SMÅLAND, SWEDEN.

When forests meet ecological, economic, social and cultural dimensions of sustainability, a range of diverse stakeholders are implied. You as an individual is one stakeholder. They also include forest related industries, governance, citizens, science, indigenous communities, as well as a multitude of species. As stakeholders meet, different types of knowledges and different cultures and languages also have to meet. In the first in a series of Forest Meetings, we will explore how we can meaningfully and effectively collaborate across many forms of stakeholders. We will do this by drawing on innovative examples of stakeholder collaboration, and together co-create principles of engagement.

Welcome to join Forest Meeting #1; Collaborations, on 13th September 2022

the first of a series of thought provoking, informative and inspiring conversations on how we can value and work with the forest in old, changed and entirely new ways. Forests concern all of us – by storing carbon, providing alternatives to fossil based materials and energy, offering livelihoods, biodiverse habitats, as well as a source of recreation and culture. Get your say in how we live, love and work with our forests.

WHEN The very first Forest Meeting takes place on 13th September, 3-5.30pm Swedish time, 2.3-4.30pm UTC.

WHERE Online, on zoom – but we will try to make it feel as if we were meeting in the woods. Sign up on Eventbrite.

WHO A diverse mix of forest stakeholders – you, decision makers, forest industry, people working in the forest and people who like spending time in the forest. Language: We will use Smålish, the English we speak in the Swedish county of Småland which thrives on mistake to make it accessible for as many as possible.
